Lendco upsizes BTL securitisation to £455M, nearing £1B for the year

What's the deal? UK specialist property lender LendcoDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has closed its eighth securitisation, raising £455 million of loans against buy-to-let and bridging assets. Strong investor demand allowed the deal to be upsized by £65 million from an initial provisional pool of £390 million.

What does Lendco do? Launched in 2018, it writes commercial bridging, semi-commercial bridging, and professional buy-to-let mortgages, distributed only through brokers. It funds itself through the Atlas residential mortgage securitisation programme, which began in 2021, plus bank warehouse lines.

By the numbers: The transaction takes total issuance under Atlas to £2.9 billion. Issuance for 2026 now approaches £1 billion, a record year for the lender.

What they're saying: "We very much value the strong investor demand that allowed us to upsize this deal," said chief executive officer Simon Knight, adding that it "positions us well for further growth in 2027."

Adrian Scragg, director of treasury and capital markets, called the result "testament to the quality of the loans Lendco originates" against "a backdrop of macroeconomic headwinds."

Why it stands out: At £455 million, the raise sits in the 94th percentile of all-time lending capital rounds for UK real estate, based on a sample of 67 deals.

The signal: The deal fits a busy UK buy-to-let mortgage-backed securities market, where recent transactions from rivals have also drawn investor demand. For specialist lenders, securitisation remains a core funding channel — and Lendco's upsizing shows appetite for the asset class holding firm despite wider economic pressure.
