AmerCareRoyal buys molded-fiber maker Ultra Green in 12th add-on deal

What's the deal? AmerCareRoyalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → (ACR), a US provider of foodservice and operational supplies, has acquired Ultra Green PackagingDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a supplier of molded fiber products including take-n-bake pizza trays, sushi trays, and bakeware. Terms were not disclosed. It marks ACR's twelfth add-on acquisition since partnering with Oridian Capital Partners.

What's the endgame? The deal deepens ACR's PrimeWare line with Ultra Green's molded fiber expertise, expanding its compostable packaging range. ACR says the move strengthens its position with grocery and retail customers.

Why now? "Customer demand for sustainable packaging solutions continues to grow across the foodservice and grocery channels, and Ultra Green strengthens our ability to meet that need," said Scott Milberg, chief executive officer of ACR.

Ultra Green, headquartered in Mound, Minnesota, designs and distributes fiber-based packaging and rPET lids for the foodservice, grocery, and institutional channels. President and owner Kristin Davidson will remain involved after the deal, alongside key members of the management team.

What could go wrong? With no disclosed terms or details on Ultra Green's capacity and customer base, the competitive significance of the deal is hard to gauge. Sustainability claims alone also do not establish that fiber products are lower-impact in every use.

The signal: The purchase fits a broader packaging-industry push to build fiber-based alternatives to plastic through acquisitions. Huhtamaki bought Florida producer Zellwin Farms in 2025 to add capacity, while CKFDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → agreed to acquire Molded Fiber Technology that year to consolidate operations. ACR's deal is a targeted portfolio expansion in a fragmented market where customers increasingly seek alternatives to conventional packaging.
