System One buys capital-project planner GMP in critical-infrastructure push
What's the deal? System OneDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired Global Management Partners (GMP), an independent provider of capital project planning and consulting services, for an undisclosed sum. Announced October 19, 2026, the deal adds front-end project planning, consulting, and project-based talent resourcing to System One's critical-infrastructure platform. GMP serves owners across data center and advanced manufacturing, energy and energy transition, and process and industrial markets.
What's the endgame? System One is building a broad critical-infrastructure business spanning project development, delivery, site services, and talent resourcing. GMP's front-end planning expertise fills the earliest stage of that chain, from project concept and feasibility through execution support.
The companies: Founded in 2012 and based in Greer, South Carolina, GMP provides project planning, development, and delivery services, including engineering, procurement, and construction management. System One, founded more than 40 years ago, employs over 10,000 professionals across more than 50 locations in the US, Canada, the UK, and Brazil.
What changes? GMP will operate as a System One company, aligning its offerings within the critical-infrastructure sector. Owner Price Howard stays on as president.
"GMP's expertise in front-end project planning and consulting is highly complementary to System One's Critical Infrastructure platform," said Greg Lignelli, System One's president and chief operating officer. Howard said the combination brings "complementary strengths, shared values, and a common focus on project success."
Why now? The deal caps a busy year of expansion. In April, System One acquired PathfinderDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, adding project assurance, controls, and resourcing for utilities, energy, mining, and pharmaceuticals. In September, OaktreeDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and StepStone made a new investment to back its growth strategy, and in October it bought utility-construction provider Aucoin Telecom & Utility Construction.
The signal: System One is assembling capabilities piece by piece in a consolidating critical-infrastructure services market. Rivals are moving too — CEISDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → bought One Tech Engineering & Power in June to add utility field and project-delivery work — as demand builds around data centers and the energy transition.
