GOGOX exits mainland China for $0.15, pivots overseas as GOGO Tech

What's the deal? GOGOX (2246.HK), billed as the first listed intra-city freight stock, is selling its entire mainland China business to Crestpoint Investment Limited for US$0.14. The buyer, a Hong Kong-registered investment holding company, is wholly owned by businessman Ng Tsz Fung, described as an independent third party. GOGOX also plans to rename its Chinese entity "GOGO Tech" and drop the GOGOX brand on the mainland.

Why a token price? The US$0.14 tag is a formality, not a valuation. The mainland unit held net liabilities of roughly US$340.4K and posted a US$6.78M net loss in the first half of 2026, so the deal reads as a retreat from a loss-making operation rather than a conventional sale.

What's the endgame? GOGOX is concentrating investment on Hong Kong and overseas markets, including India, under a unified GOGOX brand. The mainland now supplies just 15% of group revenue, with Hong Kong and overseas at 85%.

Why now? The exit caps a long retreat. Mainland revenue fell 35.7% in the first half of 2026 to US$6.05M, and the company booked goodwill impairments in both 2025 and 2026 as competition intensified and growth lagged forecasts. Once the deal closes, the unit's losses will no longer consolidate into the listed company's accounts.

By the numbers: The retreat has not yet become a turnaround. Group revenue still fell 10.9% in the half, and GOGOX remained loss-making despite narrowing its net loss. Its shares closed at US$0.14 on October 16, 2026, giving it a market value of about US$8.94M — down more than 99% from its post-listing peak.

What could go wrong? The disposal requires shareholder approval at an extraordinary general meeting. Shedding the mainland removes losses but also shrinks the business, leaving GOGOX dependent on Hong Kong and still-nascent overseas markets to deliver growth.

The signal: The US$0.14 price tells the story of a shrinking, fiercely competitive mainland intra-city freight market that GOGOX could not win. Four years after its 2022 Hong Kong listing, the company is betting its future on exporting its model abroad rather than defending home turf.
