BTS buys Sweden's Edward Lynx to scale leadership assessment across Europe
What's the deal? BTSDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, the Stockholm-based global consultancy, has agreed to acquire 100% of Edward Lynx AB, a Swedish firm specialising in executive and senior leadership assessment and development. The deal value was undisclosed. The transaction is expected to close on October 30, 2026.
What each side brings: Founded in 1996 and based in Stockholm, Edward Lynx serves large and mid-sized Nordic companies, mostly in industrial sectors, with a team of 14 consultants using licensed psychologists, custom business cases, and simulation-based methods. BTS runs roughly 1,200 professionals across 35 offices on six continents, competing in talent, HR, and traditional consulting.
The rationale: Edward Lynx's team will join BTS Nordics and support BTS's Talent Insight and Assessment centre of expertise across Europe. Client overlap between the two firms is limited, giving each room to broaden services with existing customers.
The numbers: Over the past three years, Edward Lynx has averaged revenues of US$4.47M and an adjusted EBITDA margin of around 21%, remaining consistently profitable. The deal includes an upfront cash payment plus an additional cash payment due in 2028, conditional on performance. Given its size, BTS does not expect the acquisition to materially affect its EBITA in 2026 or earnings in 2027.
What changes: Founder Anna Edward will stay in a transition role. Emilia Bustos, currently chief executive officer of Edward Lynx, will become head of Talent Insight and Assessment, Nordics.
"Edward Lynx adds senior expertise and complementary client relationships, accelerating our ability to scale this offering across Europe," said Joel Sigrist, head of BTS Europe.
The signal: BTS frames the deal as part of a strategy to consolidate what it calls a "highly fragmented market" for leadership assessment while building a base for organic growth. Anna Edward said Nordic clients increasingly want assessment and development delivered as one integrated offering — a pull that is nudging consultancies to buy specialist capability rather than grow it alone.
