Romania's Erbașu group buys medical imaging firm Vici Evolution
What's the deal? Construcții Erbașu, the Romanian construction group controlled by entrepreneur Cristian Erbașu, has acquired medical equipment supplier Vici Evolution. The purchase was made alongside Innova Integration, the group's hospital design and construction arm, and approved by Romania's Competition Council. Deal value was not disclosed.
What each side does: Innova Integration designs and builds hospitals. Vici Evolution, founded by Laura Florentina Danciu, supplies medical equipment and health system solutions, specialising in nuclear medicine and imaging.
What's the endgame? The group wants to combine hospital design, construction, equipping, and operations under one roof. "The company completed a segment of our activity, we acquired a firm specialised in nuclear medicine and imaging," said Vlad Iman, chief executive officer of Innova Integration, at the ZF Health & Pharma 2026 summit (translated from Romanian).
Why now? Iman framed the move around cost pressure in Romania's health system. "The better the infrastructure is set up, the more efficient the diagnostic, communication, and treatment side is, the more costs will fall," he said, adding that the fight stems from "limited resources, namely money" (translated from Romanian).
By the numbers: Vici Evolution reported turnover of 179 million lei last year, up from 25 million lei the year before, according to mfinante.ro. Net profit reached 35 million lei, against 856,000 lei previously, on 17 employees.
The signal: The deal shows a Romanian construction group building a vertically integrated healthcare offering, from blueprints to equipment. By pairing hospital construction with imaging and nuclear medicine supply, Erbașu is betting that owning more of the chain lowers costs in a system squeezed by tight budgets.
