Lonestar Electric enters Alabama with Redstone Electric Supply buy
What's the deal? Houston-based Lonestar Electric Supply has acquired Huntsville, Alabama's Redstone Electric Supply for an undisclosed sum. The deal, completed October 5, marks Lonestar's entry into Alabama and expands its national footprint.
What do they do? Both companies supply equipment, parts, and lighting for commercial, industrial, and federal construction projects. Both also offer project management, custom logistics, and financial structuring, and both are channel partners of ABB.
What changes? Redstone keeps its name and operates under Lonestar at its Huntsville facility. All Redstone employees join Lonestar.
Why Alabama? "With this acquisition, we are establishing a foothold in Alabama, starting with the Huntsville market, which is home to a diverse economy anchored by aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing and technology," said Jeff Metzler, chief executive officer of Lonestar. Redstone president Blake Hulgan noted the state announced a record 234 new or expanding industry projects last year.
Why now? The move follows Lonestar's acquisition this summer of Industrial Cable Solutions in Louisiana, building on recent expansions across New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Lafayette.
The signal: Lonestar is consolidating regional electrical suppliers to ride surging electrification demand across the Southeast, where industrial investment is drawing scale-hungry distributors.
