What's the deal? Legal services platform Canford GroupDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, backed by Queen's Park Equity (QPEDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →), has acquired Lemonaid Motor LegalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → for an undisclosed sum. Rotherham-based Lemonaid provides white-label first notification of loss (FNOL) and claims management services to motor insurance brokers.
What does Lemonaid do? It triages motor claims and places them with a panel of specialist providers across credit hire, repairs, recovery and storage, salvage, and personal injury. The senior team, led by managing director Luke Baker, will stay on and keep a significant equity stake, with Lemonaid operating under its own brand.
Why now? The deal is Canford's second bolt-on since QPE invested in December 2025, following the acquisition of PDC Group in September 2026.
What's the endgame? Canford wants to cover the full client journey, from the initial accident through to representation and recovery of losses. Baker said the tie-up lets Lemonaid "stay closer to the complete client journey."
David Nash, group chief executive of Canford Group, said the two businesses "share the same direction" and pointed to "opportunities this new relationship will create for clients and colleagues across the group."
The signal: A private equity-backed platform is stitching together UK legal and claims services through repeat acquisitions — a classic buy-and-build play aimed at owning more of the motor claims chain.
