What's the deal? First Camp GroupDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired Bud CampingDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a year-round destination on Norway's west coast near the Atlantic Road, for an undisclosed sum. The purchase gives the Nordic operator its sixth site in Norway and 93 destinations across Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Germany, and Switzerland. First CampDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → takes over on October 1, 2026.
What each side brings: Bud Camping sits by the sea in Hustadvika Municipality, offering pitches for motorhomes, caravans, and tents, plus cabins, holiday homes, and boat rental. Its sellers have run it since 2021. First Camp is Northern Europe's largest camping and resort operator, with more than 24,000 pitches and over 4,000 cabins across its brands.
Why now? The deal extends First Camp's Norwegian growth push, adding a coastal site in one of the country's most scenic areas. The company has acquired more than 70 destinations since 2017.
What's the endgame? First Camp wants to scale Bud Camping's reach while keeping its local character. "We see great potential in building on what already makes the destination special, while also making it visible to even more guests in the Nordics and internationally," said chief executive officer Johan Söör.
What changes for guests? Nothing in the short term, the company says. Existing and seasonal guests keep their arrangements as the transition proceeds.
The signal: Europe's fragmented camping market is consolidating fast, and First Camp's steady acquisition pace shows how scale players are absorbing well-run independents. By pairing local roots with commercial muscle, operators like First Camp are turning campsites into a professionalised, cross-border business.
