Nvidia reportedly turned away neoclouds from GTC Berlin for adding AMD and TPU chips
What's being reported? Chip research firm SemiAnalysis says it has confirmed that several neoclouds, the specialist GPU cloud providers, were refused access to Nvidia's GTC Berlin conference after adding AMD GPUs, Google TPUs and other non-Nvidia chips to their cloud offerings. The firm did not name the companies involved, and Nvidia has not publicly commented on the claim.
Why neoclouds, not hyperscalers? According to SemiAnalysis, the pressure does not apply to the big cloud platforms, which have more buying power. Neocloud executives, by contrast, feel Nvidia has used high-pressure tactics to keep them Nvidia-only, and some are now considering offering TPUs or AMD GPUs quietly to avoid retaliation.
Context: The post builds on a June 2026 SemiAnalysis thread in which neocloud executives said they feared that running non-Nvidia networking gear, or offering AMD GPUs or TPUs, could cost them early chip allocations or Nvidia's support for a future IPO or VC raise. Nvidia is the main chip supplier to these providers and has also invested in or helped finance several of them, which makes the question of how freely they can diversify a live one.
