Grayscale opens three crypto funds on Republic with $2,500 minimum

What's the deal? Grayscale has made three crypto-investment products — the Grayscale DeFi Fund, Grayscale Decentralized AI Fund, and Grayscale Data NetworkDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → Trust — available to eligible accredited investors through investment platform Republic. The minimum investment is $2,500.

What's inside the funds? The DeFi Fund tracks a market-cap-weighted index of decentralised finance protocols spanning lending, trading, and asset management, including UNI, AAVE, ONDO, ENA, CRV, and LDO. The Decentralized AI Fund holds projects at the intersection of blockchain and artificial intelligence, such as NEAR, TAO, RENDER, and FIL.

The Data Network Trust is narrower, offering exposure to DATA, the native token of the DATA Network. Grayscale describes the network as AI training infrastructure that sources and verifies data, then issues licences for training AI models — building an onchain record of data provenance and compensating rights holders.

What's the endgame? The partnership aims to give more investors early access to products typically reserved for institutions. "Some of the most compelling opportunities in digital assets are in DeFi, decentralized AI, and onchain data infrastructure," Grayscale chief executive officer Peter Mintzberg said.

The signal: The move extends Grayscale's push beyond single-asset exposure into thematic, basket-style crypto products. By pairing those strategies with a lower entry point on a retail-facing platform, it signals a bid to widen access to sectors — DeFi, decentralised AI, and data infrastructure — where crypto and AI increasingly overlap.
