Romania's Gift Idea invests over €500K in first phase of five-year expansion
What's the deal? Romanian B2B gift company Gift IdeaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has completed the first of three phases in a five-year expansion plan, investing more than €500,000 in 2026. The money went into equipment, a new warehouse, software, and operational infrastructure.
By the numbers: Gift Idea sells 400,000 gifts a year and posted revenue of 26.5 million lei in 2025. Its assembly capacity now exceeds 15,000 gifts per day.
What does it do? The company sells exclusively to businesses, supplying corporate gift packages and baskets for employees, clients, and partners, gifts for children, and baskets for retail sale. It has operated for 14 years.
Why now? The 2026 spending funded a move to the class A Lion's Head logistics park in Popești-Leordeni, Ilfov, which includes a temperature-controlled zone for products needing specific storage. "Infrastructure must be prepared for the weeks of peak demand before Christmas," said managing partner Cosmin Poenaru (translated from Romanian).
Why the scale? Gift Idea's business is seasonal, so it sizes capacity for the peak rather than an average day. Poenaru compared the approach to a retailer preparing for Black Friday, when many clients need large volumes delivered in the same window.
What's the endgame? The first phase lays the base for two more over five years. The company is weighing co-packing and production for other brands, and is considering acquiring competitors.
The signal: A profitable, long-running B2B operator is betting that fixed infrastructure — not just seasonal labour — is the way to capture peak demand. If the capacity bet pays off, the next moves could reshape a fragmented corporate-gifting market through consolidation.
