The sum arrived as two £150,000 investments.

What's the endgame? The first investment moved Amity's brewing to Albion Mills in Greengates, Bradford, last year. The second refurbished its Farsley taproom in Leeds, doubling covers to 80 and adding capacity.

By the numbers: Founded during the 2020 Covid lockdown by brewing specialists Rich Degnan and Russ Clarke, Amity now employs more than a dozen people and generates around £100,000 in monthly sales, mostly through its taproom. It also supplies bottle shops, bars, and restaurants, and exports to Europe and Japan.

Why now? The brewery secured SALSA food safety accreditation, opening the door to supply larger pub groups and lift its wholesale and business-to-business sales.

A new brewing tank has been installed at the Bradford site, where strong event turnout has prompted plans for a second pub after Amity secured a taproom licence.

"The Salsa accreditation has been a highlight this year because of the opportunities it gives us to get in front of larger pub and restaurant groups," said Verity Clarke, head of communications and a director.

Alex McWhirter, chief executive of Finance Yorkshire, said the brewery's "ambition and drive to innovate has seen the business negotiate the challenges of operating a small business in the competitive craft brewing sector."

The signal: Finance Yorkshire expects its total investments to reach £50 million by 2027, backing further business growth across the region. Amity's deal shows how regional debt funding is helping small producers scale beyond their local base.
