Exa hits $100M in annualized revenue, growing 10x a year
What's the deal? Exa, which builds a search engine for AI agents, has passed $100 million in annualized revenue, CEO and co-founder Will Bryk said in a LinkedIn post. The company says it has grown almost exactly 10x per year for three years and now handles 2 billion requests a month from more than 200,000 teams.
What's the endgame? Exa gives AI agents access to hundreds of billions of web documents plus proprietary data. It serves personal agents, AI labs, coding agents, and go-to-market agents — "really any agent," Bryk wrote.
Why now? Bryk argues agents search differently from people: they write long, complex queries and want all the world's data, not just the web. Exa has spent five years building a search engine designed for them.
The signal: Exa predicts agents will search 1,000x more than humans by 2030 — a bet that information, not model quality, is the next bottleneck. "While the world seems close to perfect intelligence with cutting-edge models, we are very far from perfect information," Bryk wrote.
