BBAM closes third aviation fund above $1.7B
What's the deal? BBAMDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has closed Incline Aviation III, its third flagship aviation fund, with more than $1.7 billion in total capital commitments. The private equity fund drew support from a mix of existing and new institutional investors.
What's the endgame? The Dallas-based firm invests across the commercial aviation market, including aircraft, engines, and related credit opportunities. BBAM manages more than 500 aircraft and serves over 100 airline customers across more than 50 countries.
Why now? The fund is already putting money to work, with more than $625 million invested and committed as of June 2026 — about 37% of the final fund size.
The track record: Incline III extends a strategy refined across two predecessors: Incline Aviation I raised $1.2 billion of commitments including affiliated co-investment, and Incline Aviation II raised $1.5 billion. BBAM brings nearly 40 years of experience sourcing, financing, and managing commercial aircraft.
"Our focus remains on deploying capital selectively into opportunities where our experience, scale and global aviation relationships can create meaningful value," said Steve Zissis, president and chief executive officer of BBAM.
The signal: Each Incline fund has topped the last, signaling steady institutional appetite for leased commercial aircraft as an asset class. For BBAM, the larger pool reinforces its position among the world's longest-standing aircraft lessors.
