Try Dealroom →, a La Habra, California-based environmental solutions provider, the companies announced on October 12, 2026. Terms were not disclosed.
Who are they? Rochester Midland, founded in 1888, sells route-based technical services and specialty chemicals across water treatment, food safety, and other verticals, with facilities across North America and Europe. ApHinity, founded in 2015, builds patented technologies for water footprint optimisation and industrial air emissions treatment.
What's the endgame? The deal expands Rochester Midland's reach into complex water and air quality management, including sectors such as semiconductors and healthcare. "ApHinity brings patented, differentiated solutions across complex water and air quality management, significantly expanding Rochester Midland's capabilities," said chief executive officer Jim White.
Why now? White signalled more deals ahead, saying it continues "to seek additional partnership opportunities with like-minded businesses" to strengthen its water treatment platform.
ApHinity's owners — Christopher Bellizzi, Stephen Mosher, and Joshua Curt — said joining the platform would help the firm "accelerate its growth potential," citing Rochester Midland's national service coverage.
The signal: The acquisition points to steady consolidation in specialty environmental services, where established players buy patented technology to broaden capabilities for blue-chip customers rather than build it in-house.
