Bunzl buys UK care home supplier Blueleaf, adding £58M in revenue

What's the endgame? Bunzl said the acquisition strengthens its position in the UK care home market and broadens its customer offering. It called Blueleaf "highly complementary" to its existing business.
Why now? The deal gives Bunzl scale in a sector it views as attractive. "The combination of the two businesses will broaden our customer proposition and provide opportunities to leverage our scale and capabilities," said chief executive officer Frank van Zanten.
The signal: Bunzl grows largely through bolt-on acquisitions, absorbing niche distributors to extend its reach across markets. Folding Blueleaf into its UK operations continues that playbook in the care sector.
