Hyperfine lands $40M loan as quarterly revenue tops cash burn

What's the deal? Hyperfine (NASDAQ: HYPR) has secured a $40 million senior secured term loan facility, drawing an initial $15 million at closing. Another $25 million becomes available if the company hits certain commercial milestones through December 2027.

Why now? The medical imaging company said preliminary third-quarter revenue of about $6.0 million topped net cash burn of about $5.6 million for the first time. Revenue climbed 53% from the second quarter, while cash burn fell 29%.

The numbers: For the nine months ended September 30, 2026, preliminary revenue reached about $13.8 million, up 66% from $8.3 million a year earlier. Net cash burn eased to $22.2 million from $24.2 million, and cash and equivalents stood at about $37.9 million.

Hyperfine reaffirmed full-year 2026 revenue guidance of $20 million to $22 million and cash burn of $26 million to $28 million. It expects complete third-quarter results on November 9, 2026.

What could go wrong? The figures are preliminary and unaudited, and the larger $25 million tranche remains tied to commercial milestones. That makes the facility a bridge rather than proof that adoption is scaling on its own.

The signal: For a cash-burning scaleup, revenue outpacing burn is the metric that matters — it shows commercialisation gaining on dilution. The loan buys runway, but the next audited quarter will test whether the trend holds.
