Partners Group opens private credit fund targeting double-digit income

What's the deal? Partners Group has launched an evergreen Global Multi-Sector Private Credit Income Strategy, open to institutional and private wealth investors worldwide. The firm, which holds $186bn in assets under management, is targeting returns in the high single digits to low double digits, generated largely through income.

What's the endgame? The fund spans senior direct lending, credit secondaries, fund financing, royalties, opportunistic credit, and liquid credit. It focuses on developed markets across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific.

Why now? Partners Group is pitching the strategy as investors hunt for high yields and stable cash flow. "As private credit markets continue to grow in scale and maturity, the opportunity to combine complementary income-generating strategies has increased," said Andrew Bellis, global head of private credit.

The firm says the diversified approach creates natural offsets. If slower merger and acquisition activity shrinks direct lending opportunities, the strategy can pivot to credit secondaries or net asset value financing.

Partners Group manages $40bn in private credit across senior and junior direct lending, private credit secondaries, fund finance, broadly syndicated loans, and collateralised loan obligations.

The signal: The launch tracks a wider push by private markets firms to package multiple credit strategies into single, open-ended vehicles aimed at a broadening pool of wealth investors.
