Teamworks buys Atrium Sports from Sportradar for $170M
What's the deal? Sportradar has agreed to sell Atrium Sports to Teamworks Innovations for $170 million in cash. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.
What each side does: Sportradar, which acquired Atrium Sports in 2021, provides sports data and integrity services. Atrium offers coaching and scouting analytics, particularly for baseball and basketball. Teamworks builds software for sports organisations and will take over those operations.
What's being kept? Sportradar will retain selected technology and related revenue streams, including automated cameras, graphics technology, computer vision capabilities, and competition management products. These assets support its betting, gaming, and media services.
Why now? The sale follows new prediction market partnerships. Sportradar has extended its deal with Polymarket to cover more than 20 leagues and competitions, roughly 300,000 matches a year, and signed a separate agreement with Kalshi for official data, odds, and integrity services.
What's the endgame? Chief executive officer Carsten Koerl said the deal "optimizes and streamlines our business as we focus on our core betting, gaming, and media priorities," while letting Sportradar keep "key technology assets and capabilities that will support growth and innovation."
What changes? Sportradar expects the sale to deliver an attractive double-digit EBITDA multiple relative to its own market valuation. It plans to use the proceeds to strengthen its balance sheet and support capital allocation priorities.
The signal: The divestment shows Sportradar sharpening its focus on betting and prediction markets, an area drawing growing attention as deals with platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket multiply. Rather than owning the full analytics stack, it is keeping the technology that feeds its data business and shedding the rest.
