BGM buys Connecticut accounting firm R. L. DePanfilis to expand in New England

Who's involved? Founded in 1979, R. L. DePanfilis & Company provides taxation, accounting, auditing, and management consulting services to corporate clients, private individuals, estates, and trusts. Its work spans tax planning and compliance, multi-state and international filings, audits, due diligence, and business succession planning.

What changes? Partners David W. Gibbs and Kenneth T. Miller, along with their staff, will stay at the Norwalk office to manage client accounts. Clients keep the same professionals, now with access to BGM's broader accounting, audit, tax, wealth management, and trust and estate resources.

What's the endgame? The deal gives BGM a stronger base in New England and extends its reach across the US. "This combination gives us a stronger base in New England and creates additional opportunities for our professionals to collaborate and support clients," said BGM principal and chief executive officer Dane J. Boeckermann.
