Try Dealroom →, a US developer of utility-scale solar and battery projects. The deal, made through Fengate Infrastructure Fund VDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, closed in October 2026 for an undisclosed sum. It includes a portfolio of seven development-stage solar-plus-battery and standalone battery storage projects.
What's the endgame? Accelergen's management stays in place, led by chief executive officer Tom Houle and chief development officer Josh Skogen. The team will advance the portfolio to construction while pursuing new acquisitions and greenfield development, aiming to become a premier independent power producer.
Why now? The projects sit across the Southwest Power Pool and Western Electricity Coordinating Council, markets facing thermal plant retirements and rising demand from industrial electrification and large new loads. "This investment reflects our conviction that unprecedented power demand growth in the United States will be met in large part by pairing solar generation with battery storage," said Greg Calhoun, Fengate's head of energy transition.
Accelergen uses a proprietary analytics platform, Grid MinerDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, to forecast grid conditions and development risk, picking substations and sites to speed projects to market.
The relationship: Houle said prior work with Fengate's team shaped the deal. "That history gave us a level of trust and shared understanding that made this a natural fit," he said.
The signal: The acquisition tracks a broader push by infrastructure investors into solar-plus-storage as power demand surges across the US. For Fengate, backing a data-driven developer is a bet that pairing solar with batteries will be central to meeting that growth.
