GenServe buys four backup-power firms, enters Pacific Northwest
What's the deal? GenServeDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an independent provider of backup power solutions, has acquired four companies to widen its US geographic reach and technical capabilities. The deals — all completed and announced in October 2026 — were for undisclosed sums.
What's the endgame? GenServe sells, installs, services, and repairs generators, transfer switches, UPS systems, and other critical power equipment across the United States. The acquisitions deepen its technician base and extend its service network into new markets.
The expansion: Seattle-based D Square Energy gives GenServe its first presence in the Pacific Northwest, bringing experienced technicians and existing customer relationships. New Jersey-based Static Power adds uninterruptible power supply (UPS) maintenance, repair, and distribution to GenServe's East Coast operations.
The combination lets GenServe offer end-to-end emergency power — generators, transfer switches, systems integration, and UPS services. It also acquired Orlando-based Alternative Power Solutions and Houston-based 1st Class Generator Services, adding technician capacity and local expertise in Florida and Texas.
Why now? GenServe says it continues to invest in technicians, engineering, and back-office functions to keep customers' critical power infrastructure running. "We are thrilled to partner with the exceptional teams," said chief executive officer Erik Leto, citing a goal to "deliver more capabilities across more locations while protecting the local relationships our customers rely on."
Acquired founders framed the deals as a scale-up. "Joining GenServe lets us bring that specialized expertise to a much larger customer base, backed by a national platform," said Charles Vitale, president of Static Power. Todd Plant, owner of D Square Energy, said his customers "will benefit from that added support without losing the responsiveness they've always counted on."
The signal: A single buyer absorbing four regional power-service firms at once points to consolidation in a fragmented market, as GenServe assembles a national, OEM-agnostic platform spanning generators and UPS systems.
