Try Dealroom →, a consultancy that designs and deploys AI systems inside client businesses. The firm is a tax, advisory, and accounting provider for private middle-market businesses and high-net-worth individuals. Terms were not disclosed.
What each side brings: Citrin CoopermanDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → knows its clients' costs, margins, pricing, and cash flow. Rosetree builds and integrates AI into day-to-day operations, trains workforces, and deploys autonomous AI agents that work alongside existing teams.
What's the endgame? The firms want to move middle-market clients past experimenting with AI toward embedding it in workflows, systems, and business processes. Rosetree co-founder David Rosenbaum will lead a new Applied AI Practice at Citrin Cooperman.
Why now? Adoption is widespread but shallow. Seventy-six percent of small businesses use AI, yet only 14% have it fully embedded in core operations, according to a Goldman SachsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → 10,000 Small Businesses Voices survey published in March.
Large corporations, meanwhile, are redesigning operations around AI. "The national one can rebuild how it operates around AI because it has the resources and access to top talent," said Alan Badey, chief executive of Citrin Cooperman Advisors. "The regional distributor needs that same access and an AI plan sized to its business."
What's the pitch? Rosetree connects front-office functions — how companies market, sell, and serve customers — to back-office finance and operations systems. It is a 2027 Salesforce Partner of the Year winner for forward-deployed engineering and a launch partner of Anthropic and OpenAI.
"The companies that benefit most from AI will be the ones that rethink their workflows and bring their people along, not just add new tools," Rosenbaum said.
The bigger play: The deal builds on AI work already underway at Citrin Cooperman. In August, it engaged OdeDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → — the AI engineering venture formed by Anthropic with Blackstone and others — to speed AI use cases across its tax, accounting, and advisory practices. It has also announced alliances with Priority SoftwareDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, CasewareDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Intuit, and Tellen.
The signal: Professional services firms are buying AI engineering talent to help smaller clients keep pace with better-resourced rivals. As adoption shifts from tools to integration, the advisers who can wire AI into real workflows — not just recommend it — stand to capture the next wave of middle-market demand.
