CAZ launches second GP stakes fund, targeting growth over income

What's the deal? CAZ InvestmentsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has launched the CAZ GP Stakes Growth Fund, a registered interval fund that gives investors exposure to the long-term growth of leading private asset managers. The Houston-based firm announced the fund on October 5, 2026.

Why now? The new fund joins the existing CAZ GP Stakes Income Fund to form the CAZ GP Stakes Fund Series, which the firm bills as "GP Stakes, Your Way." Investors can now target income, growth, or both, depending on their objectives.

How it works: Both funds are open to all investors regardless of accreditation status, with a $2,500 minimum. Each offers daily pricing and subscriptions, a quarterly repurchase program, a flat management fee with no performance fee, and 1099 tax reporting.

What's the endgame? CAZ is a dominant buyer of minority stakes in private asset management firms — known as GP stakes — a model founder and chief investment officer Christopher Zook calls "one of the most attractive business models we have seen in our 25 years of investing." The firm has allocated over $8 billion to GP stakes in the past decade and holds minority positions in more than 120 managers across private equity, private credit, and private real estate.

CAZ was named GP Stake Investor of the Year for 2025 by GP Stakes News. Founded in 2001, it manages over $12 billion and ranks among the world's top 100 allocators to private equity, per Preqin.

What could go wrong? Each fund is newly formed with limited operating history, and CAZ warns both should be considered speculative investments carrying substantial risk, including the possibility of total loss.

The signal: GP stakes have become a sought-after bet on the private markets boom, letting investors share in the fee streams of asset managers rather than individual deals. By splitting its series into income and growth vehicles with a low entry point, CAZ is pushing a strategy once reserved for institutions toward a broader retail audience.
