AcuCort launches $6.98M rights issue to push Zeqmelit toward FDA approval
What's the deal? AcuCortDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Swedish pharmaceutical company, has resolved to carry out a rights issue of units raising initially around US$8.5M before costs. The offer, open to existing shareholders, is priced at US$0.11 per unit and subject to shareholder approval at an extraordinary general meeting on November 5, 2026.
The details: The issue covers up to 78,148,177 units, each bundling shares and series TO 3 warrants. Those warrants could later bring in up to a further US$11.3M. Subscription undertakings and underwriting commitments already cover roughly US$6.38M, or about 75% of the proceeds.
Why now? To bridge funding until the issue completes, AcuCort has raised a US$604.4K loan on market terms. It has also brought forward its third-quarter interim report to November 5.
What's the endgame? The proceeds are earmarked to finance AcuCort's push towards US Food and Drug Administration approval for Zeqmelit, support growth in existing markets, and fund expansion into the US and selected international markets.
"Through the proposed Rights Issue, we are strengthening our financial position to advance the work towards FDA approval and prepare for the introduction of Zeqmelit in the US, a key market for the Company's long-term growth," said chief executive officer Jonas Jönmark.
The signal: The raise marks a step up from AcuCort's previous round, reflecting a shift from development towards commercialization as it bets that FDA clearance will open its largest market yet.
