What each side brings: Synterex is a disability-owned and woman-owned consulting firm combining clinical and regulatory writing with AgileWriter, an AI-assisted authoring platform for regulated content. TransPerfect adds its global infrastructure, client relationships, and existing medical writing capabilities.

What's the endgame? The deal creates an integrated workflow for regulated content, from authoring through submission. It expands TransPerfect's medical writing across document types and therapeutic areas while cutting handoffs across the content lifecycle.

What changes for customers? The combined offering aims to let organisations adopt AI-assisted medical writing without losing the governance, traceability, and human oversight that regulated environments demand.

Synterex founder and president Jeanette Towles will remain with the company alongside her team. "From our first conversations with TransPerfect, it was clear that we shared a vision for the future of medical writing," she said.

TransPerfect president and co-CEO Phil Shawe added, "Jeanette and the Synterex team have built an outstanding technology and business. We're excited to join forces and bring combined capabilities to customers."

The signal: As drugmakers face pressure to speed submissions, demand is rising for AI tools that accelerate regulatory writing without sacrificing compliance. The acquisition shows language and life-sciences service providers consolidating to own more of the regulated content lifecycle.
