What's the deal? OmikronDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a portfolio company of German private equity fund FLEX CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, has acquired COPSDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Vienna-based treasury management software provider. Terms were not disclosed. The deal was announced in October 2026.

What each side brings: Omikron, founded in Cologne in 1983, makes e-banking and payment factory software, including its multicash electronic banking system for processing payments and managing cash. COPS, founded in Vienna in 1979, builds corima, a modular treasury system covering risk, portfolio and asset management, budget planning, and hedge accounting.

What's the endgame? The merger combines Omikron's payments and cash management tools with COPS's treasury capabilities into a single platform for corporate customers across the DACH region. The combined group serves more than 700 corporate customers and employs roughly 150 people across Germany and Austria.

Who's behind it? FLEX Capital invests in profitable, growing companies in the German internet and software midmarket. Its second fund, announced in early 2023, totals €300 million and added a 30-person operational team to support portfolio companies — an in-house capability it says differentiates it from many private equity peers.

The fund now backs eleven business platforms. Omikron employs around 91 people and serves more than 650 direct corporate customers; COPS adds roughly 65 staff across Vienna, Wetzlar, and Hamburg, plus large-cap and enterprise clients in banking, insurance, and corporate treasury.

GoodwinDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → advised Omikron on the transaction with a Munich team of Winfried Carli, Marius Garnatz Maskus, and Jakob Lutzenberger.

The signal: The deal reflects the buy-and-build consolidation playbook running through Europe's financial software midmarket, where private equity owners bolt complementary products onto existing portfolio companies to assemble broader, stickier platforms for corporate customers.
