E8ight buys 35% of dacom system to enter AI data centre market
What's the deal? E8ightDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired a 35% stake in dacom systemDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a public procurement IT equipment supplier, to launch an AI data centre infrastructure business. The deal value was not disclosed.
What each company does: E8ight builds operations software, including the NDX Pro digital twin platform, the NFLOW Ai fluid simulation engine, and the Nexis ontology AI platform. Dacom system, founded in 2013, supplies computers, monitors, and increasingly GPU servers and network gear to public institutions.
What's the endgame? E8ight wants to combine its software with dacom system's hardware supply capability to cover everything from equipment delivery to operational optimisation for data centres. Its tools can predict heat flow to improve cooling, monitor servers in 3D, and connect facility data to aid operational decisions.
Why now? AI adoption is driving fast growth in data centre demand, raising the importance of managing heavy power and cooling loads efficiently. E8ight added data centre operations to its corporate charter at an extraordinary shareholders' meeting on September 28.
The acquisition also gives E8ight access to the hard-to-enter public procurement channel. Previously it approached public markets on a project-by-project basis; now it can use dacom system's procurement base to supply its software more widely.
The signal: The deal reflects how AI's infrastructure buildout is pulling software firms into hardware supply and operations. "We now have the foundation to properly run a data centre business," an E8ight representative said, adding the company aims to make it "a new growth axis." (translated from Korean)
