Marimekko wraps €1.4M buyback of its own shares
What's the deal? Finnish design company MarimekkoDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has completed the buyback of its own shares, acquiring 150,000 shares on Nasdaq Helsinki between September 15 and October 1, 2026. It paid EUR 1,434,284.45 in total, at an average price of €9.5619 per share.
Why now? The programme, first announced on September 14, drew on an authorisation granted at the Annual General Meeting on April 16, 2026. That authorisation has now been fully used.
What's the endgame? Marimekko now holds 235,900 of its own shares, about 0.58% of the total 40,649,170 shares. The company may use them for its incentive compensation programme, transfer them for other purposes, or cancel them.
The shares were acquired with funds from the company's non-restricted equity. Shares held by the company carry no voting rights and no entitlement to dividends.
The signal: Marimekko, known for its printed fabrics since 1951, posted net sales of €190 million in 2025 and a comparable operating profit margin of 17.1%. The buyback is a modest capital move for a company operating over 170 stores and serving 39 countries online.
