Who's bringing what? Saudi Eksab originated and co-structured the platform and anchors it with long-term institutional capital. IDB Invest and CAF contribute regional investment experience and capital-mobilisation capabilities, while IDC Network, through Valante Capital, adds on-the-ground origination and execution.
Why now? The fund marks Saudi Eksab's first deployment. "This Fund marks Saudi Eksab's first deployment and a significant milestone in translating our international investment mandate into action," said chief executive officer Yazeed Al Yahya.
What's the endgame? Beyond financing, the founding partners plan to work with the fund manager to strengthen operational practices and align the fund with international standards. It is also structured to let additional institutional investors join over time.
The signal: The fund is a channel for Gulf capital into Latin American markets, pairing international money with regional development finance and local execution. "The value is in connecting them with a broader pool of global capital," said IDB Invest chief executive officer James Scriven.
