The Chicago-based private equity firm announced the final close on September 29, 2026. It backs founder- and family-led field-based services companies across the lower middle market.

Who backed it? The fund was oversubscribed, exceeding its initial hard cap over six months. Backers included pension plans, foundations, family offices, and funds of funds, with additional commitments from the firm's own members.

Why now? The fund surpassed its $250 million target, which the firm attributes to strong institutional demand. It marks a shift for Rising Point, which previously deployed capital as an independent sponsor rather than through a committed fund.

What's the endgame? Founded in 2019, Rising Point is led by four partners: Michael Drai, Justin Marku, Natalie Greene, and Marc Perez. Since inception, it has made 27 acquisitions, including nine platform investments across verticals spanning industrial, energy transition, infrastructure, environmental and waste, rental, distribution, and commercial and residential services.

The partners said their approach centres on a "transparent, partnership-oriented mindset" paired with "data-driven strategic plans to help companies scale while preserving the foundation that made them successful."

The signal: Moving from independent sponsor to committed fund gives Rising Point stable capital to pursue and scale platform deals in an overlooked corner of the market. Beating target by $75 million points to continued institutional appetite for lower middle market buyout strategies.
