YCP takes 50% stake in Gulf consultancy Acuvon to deepen Middle East push

What's the deal? Singapore-headquartered management consulting group YCPDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired a 50% stake in AcuvonDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a 60-person consulting firm operating across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and India. The deal value was undisclosed.

Who is Acuvon? Founded in 2019 as a carve-out from i3 ConsultingDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Acuvon provides business advisory and transformation services spanning strategy execution, operating model design, and digital transformation. It has completed more than 250 projects across retail, healthcare, financial services, and government, and generates most of its business in the Saudi and UAE markets despite being headquartered in India.

What's the rationale? The acquisition combines Acuvon's Gulf market expertise with YCP's existing footprint, which includes around 500 staff across more than 20 offices in Asia plus teams in the Middle East and North America. YCP has been growing internationally, having previously added Renoir ConsultingDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →'s regional team.

Why now? The deal lands during a period of geopolitical uncertainty in the Middle East, which has slowed the region's consulting sector and moderated deal activity. Chief executive officer Yuki Ishida said the firm was "deliberate about the timing," adding it had reached "the right moment to invest in Acuvon, balancing near-term uncertainties with the region's significant long-term growth opportunity."

What's the endgame? Ishida called the Middle East "a significant long-term opportunity," citing the "depth and scale of transformation underway across the region." For Acuvon, access to YCP's network is meant to widen its service range and open growth across the Middle East and Asia.

What does Acuvon get? "This investment by YCP marks an important next step in our growth journey," said Sandeep Uppal, co-founder and managing partner of Acuvon, pointing to YCP's "scale, regional presence, and breadth of capabilities" as a platform to build on.

The signal: The move reflects Asian consulting firms betting on the Gulf's transformation agenda even as short-term deal activity cools. For YCP, buying regional expertise rather than building it from scratch continues a pattern of inorganic expansion alongside its organic office launches.
