Try Dealroom →, a St. Louis-based hub serving the spinal surgery market. The firm is backing founder and chief executive officer Kevin Bly alongside the existing management team. The deal was announced on September 28, 2026.

What does New Age do? Founded in 2012, it sits between medical device makers, hospitals, surgeons, and sales reps, supplying spinal implants, orthobiologics, and related products. The company works with 85+ original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), 100+ reps, 200+ hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers, and 350+ surgeons nationwide. Its model cuts supply chain complexity and enables vendor consolidation for facilities.

What's the money for? The investment will fund national expansion, entry into new specialties, and M&A-driven growth.

Why Avesi? Stamford-based Avesi has more than $2.2 billion in assets under management and targets lower-middle market and family-owned businesses in healthcare services, technology, and business services. "New Age delivers this value to its stakeholders and operates in a large, growing market with substantial opportunity to expand," said Pete Tedesco, managing director at Avesi.

In their words: "When we founded New Age Medical in 2012, the goal was simple: make it easier for surgeons to get the right products for their patients, and easier for the manufacturers building those products to reach them," Bly said. He pointed to "cultural alignment" between the two organisations from their first conversation.

The signal: Investors continue to chase businesses that streamline healthcare supply chains and ease administrative burden for hospitals. Avesi is betting that a consolidator connecting OEMs, reps, and surgeons can scale across specialties — a model that turns fragmented device distribution into a repeatable growth engine.
