Its liquidation heatmaps, open-interest dashboards, and funding-rate tables have become key tools for traders managing leveraged positions.
The platform serves over 5 million monthly users and more than 10,000 API clients. It will keep its brand, team, website, app, free tools, API, and pricing after the deal.
Why now? Derivatives trading now makes up the majority of crypto trading volume. CoinMarketCap, dominant in price tracking and market cap rankings, has been a spot-market-first platform. Adding CoinGlass fills a significant gap.
The Binance connection: CoinMarketCap has been owned by Binance since 2020. The acquisition accelerates its data expansion under Binance's ownership, positioning it as a more comprehensive, exchange-agnostic data provider.
