Eight Sleep's Pod 6 launches at $1,999 with half-size hub, 9x more sensors
What's the deal? Eight Sleep has launched Pod 6, the sixth generation of its smart sleep system, starting at $1,999 — the most accessible price in the company's history. The system pairs a redesigned central Hub small enough to fit under most bed frames with a Cover carrying nine times more biometric sensors than its predecessor. It's the company's most significant hardware launch to date.
What's new? The Hub was rebuilt from scratch, with electrical, mechanical, and software systems re-engineered together to roughly halve its size without cutting performance. Redesigned thermoelectric coolers deliver temperature adjustments 20% faster than any previous Pod, with each side running on independent settings.
The sensors: The Cover jumps from two sensors to 18, tracking heart rate, breathing rate, HRV, snoring, and sleep stages without a wearable. The added density lets the system distinguish two sleepers lying close together, or separate a sleeper's signal from a pet or child. That data feeds Autopilot, Eight Sleep's AI engine, which adjusts the Pod automatically based on sleep stage, environment, and daily activity.
Why now? Pod 6 builds on more than a decade of sleep research and six generations since the original Pod launched in 2019. New Solo sizes fit one side of a Queen, King, or California King bed, plus Twin XL and Twin mattresses — opening the product to solo sleepers and smaller bedrooms for the first timeDealroom has a profile for this one. What's the endgame? "Our mission is to fuel human potential through optimal sleep. Pod 6 is the strongest expression of that mission so far," says Matteo Franceschetti, co-founder and chief executive officer at Eight Sleep. The company frames the launch around three goals: better performance, better design, and wider accessibility.
The track record: Eight Sleep has been named to Fast CompanyDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →'s Most Innovative Companies list in 2019, 2022, 2023, and 2026, and the Pod has twice made TIME's Best Inventions list. The company says its technology is backed by more than 50 clinical studies and used nightly by professional athletes and entrepreneurs.
The signal: By cutting both size and starting price, Eight Sleep is pushing its smart sleep tech from a premium niche toward a broader market, with sensor accuracy it says now approaches medical-grade references. The Solo sizes signal a bet that single sleepers, not just couples, represent the next growth frontier.
