Camsense launches $78M Hong Kong IPO for robot vacuum sensors
What's the deal? Shenzhen Camsense Technologies (6802.HK), a maker of spatial perception components for robot vacuum cleaners, launched its Hong Kong IPO on Tuesday at US$7.11 per share. It expects to raise net proceeds of about US$74.3M, offering 11.59 million shares.
Why now? Camsense ranked first in China's robot vacuum spatial perception product market by revenue in 2025. Trading is scheduled to begin on September 30, with subscriptions closing at noon on September 25.
The numbers: Revenue rose 41.6% last year to US$84.4M, and the company swung to a net profit of US$302.5K. First-quarter revenue climbed a further 48.7% to US$27M, with net profit reaching US$1.07M.
Who's backing it? Two cornerstone investors — BYD-owned Golden Link and Taiwan's ZMAX OptecDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → — agreed to subscribe for a combined US$13.3M worth of shares, or about 16.13% of the offering.
What's the endgame? Camsense makes LiDAR products and line laser sensors used for navigation, positioning, and obstacle avoidance. Products for robot vacuums accounted for 98.4% of its revenue. It will spend the proceeds mainly on product R&D, technology platform development, capacity expansion, and general working capital.
The signal: Camsense's heavy reliance on a single product category — robot vacuums drive nearly all its revenue — leaves it exposed to that market's momentum. The IPO tests investor appetite for the component makers underpinning China's fast-growing consumer robotics sector.
