Spain's Gurpea buys Teknics, eyes €50M revenue by 2027

What's the deal? Navarra-based Gurpea Group has acquired TeknicsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Catalan firm specialising in industrial engineering and automation. The deal, announced in September 2026, strengthens Gurpea's presence in Catalonia and expands its technology and engineering capabilities. Terms were not disclosed.

What's the endgame? The acquisition lifts Gurpea Group to 375 staff, 9,000m² of production facilities, and five sites. It expects to top €50 million in revenue by 2027.

Why the fit? The two engineering models are complementary. Teknics brings modular, configurable industrial solutions for medical, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and consumer goods sectors, while Gurpea builds custom automation for automotive, food, pharmaceutical, and electronics clients.

Together, the companies aim to widen their range from scalable, configurable systems to large installations built for specific production processes.

"This deal means growing in size, but especially in strength and capacity," said Antxón Errea, managing partner of Gurpea Group (translated from Catalan). He added the goal is "to build a stronger engineering firm, capable of tackling ever more demanding projects without losing closeness to the client."

What changes for customers? For Teknics clients, the integration keeps existing teams, technical know-how, facilities, after-sales service, and usual contacts, while adding Gurpea's resources. The deal also gives Teknics the industrial, organisational, and financial backing of a diversified group, boosting its ability to take on larger, more complex automation projects.

The signal: The tie-up reflects continued consolidation in industrial automation, as mid-sized engineering firms combine to bid for bigger, more demanding projects while promising clients the same proximity.
