What's the endgame? The two firms span different stages of recruiting, from workforce planning and candidate attraction through assessment, reference checking, and hiring. Together, they aim to give employers a single platform covering employer branding, career sites, programmatic advertising, skills matching, fraud detection, and analytics.

Why now? The deal lands as employers lean harder on AI across recruiting while wrestling with candidate verification. AI-assisted applications speed up hiring, but they can also make it harder to confirm whether a candidate's profile matches the person being evaluated.

By the numbers: Harver's assessment technology has generated more than 100 million skills insights and been applied to more than 65 million candidates worldwide. Symphony Talent brings more than 50 years in recruitment marketing; Harver adds more than 35 years of assessment science.

"The talent acquisition market is being reshaped by AI, skills-based hiring, and a wave of candidate fraud that's changing what it means to know who you're hiring," Harver chief executive officer Sean Barry said.

The signal: Employers have long stitched together separate tools for advertising, career sites, assessments, and references — a patchwork that makes it hard to trace recruiting spend to hiring outcomes. This deal bets that consolidation, paired with earlier use of skills data, is where the market is heading.
