Why it matters: The sale cuts Peak XV's holding in the Bengaluru-based stockbroker to 14.22% from 15.68%. The firm and its affiliates remain Groww's largest public shareholder.

What's the context? The transaction adds to a run of exits by early investors this year. In August, Y Combinator sold nearly 1.2% for US$194.9M, while FrialeDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → offloaded more than 11.3 million shares for US$28.5M in June. In May, Peak XV, Ribbit Capital, and Y Combinator together sold a 4.71% stake for US$723.3M.

The business: Groww is India's largest broking firm by active investors. In the June 2026 quarter, Billionbrains reported a 94% jump in net profit to US$99.8M, up from US$51.3M a year earlier, while consolidated revenue from operations rose 66% to US$203.8M.

The buyers could not be identified from NSE data. Billionbrains shares rose marginally to US$2.58 on Thursday.

The signal: Strong earnings and a run of large block deals point to early backers steadily cashing out of one of India's most-watched fintech listings — while retaining significant stakes.
