Daxko buys childcare compliance startup Alaris to serve gyms and YMCAs

What's the deal? DaxkoDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a health and wellness software and payments provider, has acquired AlarisDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a childcare compliance and management software firm, for an undisclosed sum. Announced September 16, 2026, the deal folds Alaris' tools into the platforms that gyms, YMCAs, and community centers already use to run their operations.

What each side does: Daxko sells management software to health clubs and nonprofits. Alaris is purpose-built for childcare programs — camps, after-school care, Kids Club, and preschool — handling staff-to-child ratios, meal tracking, attendance, and medications.

Why it matters: Licensed childcare is one of the most heavily regulated services a health club, YMCADealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, JCCDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, or Boys & Girls ClubDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → offers. Operators typically track ratios, meals, and medications in systems separate from the rest of the facility. This acquisition brings that compliance work into a single environment.

What changes for customers: Alaris will keep operating as a standalone product for operators on third-party member management systems, now backed by Daxko's engineering and support teams. For those on Daxko platforms, childcare management becomes native, connecting child data with program, member, and donor records.

Families across both paths can check children in and out, monitor meals and diaper changes, track lessons and medications, and receive real-time updates.

What's the endgame? Daxko is consolidating a fragmented compliance workload into its core products — Daxko Operations, Daxko Core, Daxko Club Automation, and Daxko FitnessForce. Integrated features include ratio enforcement, federal meal-program (CACFP) tracking, state attendance submission required in 35-plus states, and security-sticker printing mandated in tier-one regulatory states such as New York and Pennsylvania.

"Childcare is one of the most trusted responsibilities a health club, YMCA, JCC, or Boys & Girls Club can take on, and staff deserve tools that match that responsibility," said Jeff VanDixhorn, chief executive officer of Daxko.

What they're saying: "Joining Daxko lets us focus on what we do best — childcare management — while gaining a partner who can accelerate our product growth," said Jeremy Kelstrom, chief executive officer of Alaris.

The signal: The deal reflects a push by vertical software providers to absorb specialised compliance tools rather than leave operators juggling multiple systems. As regulatory demands on childcare grow, owning that workflow becomes a way to lock in health and wellness customers.
