Who's involved? Founded in 2000 by Geoff Flint, CustomWeather delivers location-specific forecasts, severe weather alerts, and weather data via APIs, letting companies embed weather into their apps and operations. Haresh Bhungalia, Moonshot's founder, will become chief executive officer of CustomWeather.
Why now? Moonshot, based in Tysons, Virginia, was founded in 2025 to build an integrated ecosystem around earth and climate intelligence. It argues the data is often fragmented and disconnected from the operational decisions it should inform.
What's the endgame? Moonshot invests long-term capital from its founder and private investors with no set holding period. It is actively evaluating further acquisitions in weather and climate data, geospatial analytics, environmental risk modelling, and related software.
