Crescenta cuts private equity entry to €5,000 with new €35M ELTIF fund

What's the deal? Crescenta, Spain's first digital manager specialising in private equity funds, has launched an ELTIF vehicle called Crescenta S.A. Sicav ELTIF, Private Equity Access I. The fund targets €35 million and lowers the firm's minimum investment to €5,000.

The details: The vehicle replicates the structure of Crescenta's existing FCR funds, offering a portfolio of concentrated funds from international managers. It has a planned duration of 10 years and targets a 15% net annual internal rate of return, aiming to double investors' money.

Who can invest? The fund is open to both professional and retail investors from a €5,000 commitment, paid gradually. Crescenta requires investors to have at least €50,000 in gross annual income.

Under Spanish rules, its FCR and FIL products require a €10,000 minimum and total assets above €100,000. The ELTIF format removes that floor, but Crescenta kept a €5,000 minimum to reflect what it calls its commitment to informed, responsible private equity investing.

Why now? The firm launched three years ago with a goal of democratising private equity access. Chief executive officer and cofounder Ramiro Iglesias said the new fund responds to demand identified "beyond Spain" (translated from Spanish).

What's the endgame? With Private Equity Access I, Crescenta broadens its product line to serve a wider range of investors, from retail buyers to high-net-worth individuals.

The signal: Lowering the entry point to €5,000 pushes private equity, long reserved for institutions and wealthy investors, further toward the retail market. The ELTIF structure — designed by EU regulators to channel individual money into long-term assets — is becoming a common route for managers looking to open these once-exclusive strategies to smaller investors.
