Saudi Arabia's LEAP opens with $15B in tech deals and an Arabic AI model

What's the deal? LEAP 2026, the annual technology conference in Saudi Arabia, opened its fifth edition with over $15 billion in tech investments and strategic pledges. The launch day centred on AI infrastructure, cloud computing, and autonomous technologies.

Why now? Since LEAP first ran in 2022, Saudi Arabia's digital economy has grown 69%, from $118 billion to $199 billion, according to Communications and Information Technology Minister Abdullah Alswaha. Women now make up 36% of the tech workforce.
