Mundi lands up to $150M debt facility from Column to fund Mexican exporters

What's the deal? Mexican fintech Mundi has secured a debt facility of up to $150 million from Column, a nationally chartered bank that provides regulated financial infrastructure for technology companies. The financing gives Mundi more room to fund exporters and their supply chains, and marks Column's first partnership with a trade-finance fintech in Mexico.

What's the endgame? Mundi provides working-capital solutions for Mexican exporters and their supply chains. The new facility, combined with recent debt renewals, lifts the company's capacity to grow its receivables portfolio to up to $325 million — more than double its previous level.

Why now? The deal lands as cross-border trade rules face uncertainty under the USMCA review. US imports from Mexico reached $534.3 billion in 2025, with momentum continuing into 2026.

Mundi says the funding will help more companies compete for North American trade. Micro, small, and medium enterprises form the backbone of Mexico's economy but produce less than 7% of exports, and financing from foreign banks remains marginal.

What they're saying: Column's platform lets Mundi draw funding daily, "in minutes," according to chief executive officer Martin Pustilnick. Brian Fishbein, Column's chief investment officer, said the partnership will scale "reliable capital for Mexican exporters and supply chains across North America."

What's next? Mundi plans to use the added capacity to reach more exporters and expects to develop new products in the coming months. Its ability to deploy funding quickly may matter more if trade conditions shift during the USMCA review.

The signal: At $150 million, the round sits in the 96th percentile of all-time debt rounds for US deep tech companies, a sample of 1,927 deals. It shows regulated banking infrastructure becoming a tool for fintechs lending into cross-border supply chains — where exporters need fast, dollar-based liquidity but face limited formal access.
