Partners Group closes $15B infrastructure program, 50% larger than prior vintage

What's the deal? Switzerland's Partners Group has held the final close of its fourth direct infrastructure program at over $15 billion. The vehicle, which includes a closed-ended fund alongside bespoke co-investment solutions, is more than 50% larger than the previous vintage. The firm manages $186 billion in private markets assets.

The track record: Partners Group says its direct infrastructure strategy is top quartile, delivering 2.2x net TVPI and a 20.8% net internal rate of return across 21 exits since inception.

What's the endgame? The strategy targets next-generation energy, utility, and other infrastructure platforms, with a focus on the mid-market segment. The program is already over 40% committed, with a seed portfolio of 11 assets.

Those seed assets reflect current themes: power generation, the AI infrastructure build-out, and energy security. They include Life Cycle PowerDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a US mobile power provider for data centers; Digital HaloDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Singapore-based data center platform; and green flexibilityDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a German battery storage developer.

Who's backing it? Investors span North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. The mix of new and existing clients includes public and corporate pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, GPs, consultants, and banks.

What's next? Partners Group is currently raising its sixth direct private equity program, targeting a similar $15 billion. Its fourth and fifth private equity programs each closed at over $15 billion, in 2021 and 2024 respectively.

The signal: The oversized close underscores how capital is concentrating around infrastructure tied to AI compute, power, and grid reliability — themes now central to institutional allocation.
