Highland Europe raises €1.1B Fund VI to back growth-stage tech

What's the deal? Highland Europe has raised €1.1 billion for its sixth fund, extending its strategy of investing in European technology companies at the growth stage. The vehicle brings Highland's total capital raised since 2012 to about €3.75 billion across six funds.

The fund's focus: Fund VI will back founders building companies with the potential to become global category leaders. Highland typically invests after a company reaches product-market fit and needs capital to expand internationally, strengthen its team or accelerate product development.

The firm: Highland operates from London and Geneva with 36 employees, including 20 investment professionals. It invests across enterprise software, consumer technology, fintech, healthcare and AI, and has backed more than 80 companies with 30 exits since its founding.

Why now? The fund arrives as AI reshapes how companies build software, automate operations and deliver services. Highland plans to invest in companies using AI as a core product capability and in businesses applying it to transform existing industries.

The signal: Liquidity events matter because they return capital to limited partners and prove valuations can convert into real proceeds. With returns flowing back and a fresh €1.1 billion to deploy, Highland is positioning to fund Europe's next wave of AI-driven growth companies.
