Tradable launches secondaries platform for $1T investor network
What's the deal? TradableDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a private asset marketplace, has launched a secondaries offering that lets private fund managers give investors on-demand liquidity. The Chicago-based platform gives general partners (GPs) software tools to offer rolling liquidity and receive offers from approved buyers through a structured, permissioned process.
Why now? Private fund investors can wait years for their capital to be returned. Tradable's chief executive officer Alex Cordover said investors "increasingly want a clear path to liquidity," while managers want to protect investor relationships and cut operational overhead.
How it works: GPs integrate their funds so existing limited partners (LPs) can first seek liquidity within the manager's own investor base, reducing the need for costly diligence and consents. LPs can also tap Tradable's wider network of secondaries buyers to run broader market processes. Buyers get access to curated fund interests and first-party data on the fund and its underlying investments.
What's the endgame? The launch builds on Tradable's existing marketplace, which spans more than 250 institutions and counterparties representing over $1 trillion in assets under management. "Tradable gives managers the tools to offer structured liquidity inside their funds in a more organized and repeatable way," Cordover said.
The signal: Secondaries have become a key release valve for a private market where exits and distributions have slowed. Tradable's move points to growing demand for technology-driven liquidity that keeps GPs in control of buyer selection, pricing, and timing.
