Alchemy Labs raises C$13.7M in TSX Venture IPO for defence coatings push
What's the deal? Nanotechnology company Alchemy Labs has completed an initial public offering, raising gross proceeds of C$13,738,447 (roughly $9.7 million). The Toronto firm sold about 13.7 million units at C$1.00 each and listed on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol "ALCH."
Why now? The offering closed on July 9, 2026, following a prospectus filed on June 25 across Canadian provinces and territories, excluding Quebec. Trading is expected to begin on July 13, once a trading halt is lifted.
What's the endgame? Alchemy develops protective nanocomposite coatings for the automotive and defence markets. It already sells windshield and paint protection films to automakers and is commercialising its thermal signature management technology for defence use.
Where's the money going? Net proceeds will fund facility upgrades, further research and development on its defence-related Crypsis products, expanded sales and marketing, and general working capital.
Each unit included one common share and half a warrant, with each full warrant exercisable at C$1.50 per share until July 9, 2028. Haywood SecuritiesDealroom has a profile for this one. The signal: Alchemy's listing is a modest venture-scale float, but it reflects growing investor appetite for dual-use materials that bridge civilian and defence applications.
