Qualcomm and Neura Robotics team up to build AI-powered humanoid robots
What's the deal? German humanoid robotics startup Neura Robotics has entered a strategic partnership with chip giant QualcommDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → to co-develop what the two companies call the "brain and nervous system" of next-generation robots.
Under the deal, Neura will use Qualcomm's Dragonwing Robotics IQ10 processors as reference designs in its robots and test them using Neuraverse, Neura's own cloud-based simulation and training platform.
No specific products were announced, but the goal is to accelerate the deployment of humanoid and general-purpose robots in both industrial and domestic settings.
Why now? Neura has been building momentum fast. The company raised €120 million in a Series B round in January 2025 and already claims a $1 billion order book. Qualcomm launched its IQ10 robotics processor series at CES in January 2026, designed specifically for autonomous mobile robots and humanoids — making this a logical next step for both.
On top of that, Bloomberg reported in March 2026 that Neura is in talks to raise a further €1 billion — with Tether, the stablecoin firm, among the expected backers — at a valuation of around €4 billion. The Qualcomm partnership and the fundraising together suggest Neura is moving into a more intensive scaling phase.
The partnership also reflects the wider industry's shift toward deeper integration between hardware and software stacks, rather than off-the-shelf component sourcing.
What could go wrong? The deal is light on specifics: no products, no timelines, no financial terms disclosed. Partnerships of this kind can easily stall if commercial priorities diverge or if the technical integration proves harder than anticipated.
Neura also operates in a crowded and well-capitalised field. Boston Dynamics, backed by HyundaiDealroom has a profile for this one. The signal: This partnership is part of a pattern taking shape across physical AI: robotics startups are pairing with chip and software giants rather than building every component themselves.
For Qualcomm, the deal provides an intimate look at how its processors perform in real-world robotic applications; for Neura, it shortens the path to production at scale. As Nvidia, Google, and others push into physical AI, these startup-to-platform tie-ups are fast becoming a standard go-to-market strategy.
